It’s been a busy month of getting ready for my big USA National Parks tour. I had to plan my itinerary, arrange backcountry permits, make some reservations, and buy camping, hiking, and photography gear. At the same time I had to get rid of the bulk of my possessions, either by selling them, donating them, leaving them on the curb, or mailing them home.

As if that wasn’t enough, I wanted to say farewell to Boston by visiting as many historic sites as I could. Finally, since #TerryTreksUSA is a tour of National Parks, I wanted to visit a relatively close park while I’m still in Boston. I spent a couple days in Acadia National park in Maine. I don’t know when or if I’ll get a chance to visit beautiful Main again. Acadia is a magical place, which I will write more about when I have time.

In two days I ride the Lake Shore Limited train all the way to Chicago. This should give me some time to catch up on the blog. But two days after that I leave for Badlands National Park. I’ll be busy traveling and photographing, and internet connectivity will be a problem. I don’t think I’ll be able to write much here until the trip is over in November.

If this trip goes well, I’m thinking of continuing #TerryTreksUSA early 2015. To be continued…
